The Montana Conservation Seedling Nursery (MCSN) sells stock strictly for conservation plantings (including restoration and reclamation) and cannot be used for ornamental plantings, liner material, or re-selling. To buy plants for ornamental landscaping, please visit your local nursery/ garden center. Our seedlings cannot be used as liner material or resold.

Examples of Conservation: Post-fire restoration, windbreak/ shelter belt, reforestation, reclamation, species diversification, restoration, afforestation, forest products (christmas tree farm, logging, etc.), pollinator/ wildlife habitat, improving wildlife mobility/ connecting wildlife habitat, increasing forest health/ resilience, reclaim denuded lands, watershed connectivity, climate change mitigation, ensuring regeneration of desired species, reduce soil loss/ erosion control, increase canopy cover, mandate to restore land by a government agency, & more!

ORDERING

When you find the plant species you are interested in, select the number of units you would like to order.

Our seedlings are sold in bulk

New customers must place a double order
18 large seedlings, 48 small, or 9 large + 24 small

Small Seedlings - size 10, 22, and 27 cubic inch are sold in multiples of 24
1 unit = 24 seedlings, 2 units = 48 seedlings, etc.

Large seedlings - size 100 and 175 cubic inch are sold in multiples of 9
1 unit = 9 seedlings, 2 units = 18 seedlings, etc.

There is a high demand for our seedlings, if a product is listed as 'sold out', it is sold out. If an order is cancelled the seedlings/ product will be automatically re-stocked to the ordering portal, you will need to check back to see if the product you are looking for has been restocked. You can place multiple orders and we will group them together for you.

If a product has sold out before you have completed your order, the system will remove the sold out products from your cart leaving the remaining in stock products for checkout.

CHECKOUT
After you are done adding seedlings to your cart DO NOT FORGET TO FILL OUT THE CONSERVATION VERIFICATION BOX. This box **MUST** be filled out or your order will automatically be cancelled when we receive it. After filling in the box with details of your conservation planting you may proceed to checkout.

SHIPPING

If you order seed it will be mailed to the address on your invoice. You will recieve an email confirming the address your seed will be delivered to 1 week before mailing.

• County Delivery (FREE)- We deliver one-time in the Spring to 37 partnering county conservation districts/ extension offices across Montana via our refrigerated semi-truck. You will receive a confirmation email March 1 to confirm where your order is being delivered to, a reminder email the week of delivery, a reminder the day before delivery, and the contact at your drop off location will also be in contact to confirm date, time and location details.

Your order must be paid in full or it will not be delivered and must be picked up in Missoula, where the nursery is located.

  Pick up Dates: April 14 - May 15
  Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  
  You will receive an email to schedule your pickup no later than April 1. Pre-scheduling your seedling pickup ensures they will be ready and waiting for you when you arrive.

Delivery & pick up information will be posted on our website and emailed via the newsletter by April 1.

PAYMENT

This is an ordering portal, payment will not be captured at this time but your order will be placed and the products reserved for you.

Payment instructions can be found on your confirmation email and here on our website (Payments).

Please DO NOT send half of the invoice balance. Send your payment in full after your order has been placed, balances are due no later than March 1.

Orders cancelled before April 1 will be refunded in full minus the credit card processing fee (if applicable).
Orders cancelled after April 1 are non-refundable.
