Natural Habitat: Commonly found in woodland edges, thickets, and streambanks in both moist and dry conditions

Life Cycle: Deciduous shrub, leaves turn yellow and drop in fall

Foliage: Deciduous shrub, leaves turn yellow and drop in fall

Rhizomatous: Yes

Light Requirements: Full sun - partial shade

Bloom Time: May - June

Bloom Color: White, with a strong, sweet fragrance resembling orange blossoms, hence the name "mock orange"

Height: Typically 3 - 8 feet

Elevation Range: 2,000 to 7,000 feet

Cold Hardiness: Zone 4

Wind Tolerance: Moderate

Soil Preference: Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soils, including loamy or sandy soils, but can tolerate a variety of soil types

Disturbance: May not thrive in highly disturbed areas
