Natural Habitat: Moist to dry forest, grasslands, meadows, woodlands, avalanche slopes, plains, valleys to lower subalpine throughout MT.

Foliage: Green leaves that turn brown or slightly yellow and drop in the fall.

Flowers/Fruit: White small flowers. Produces dark blue/purple berries.

Light Requirements: Full sun to partial shade

Growth Rate: 2 ft. per year

20-year height: 14 ft.

Elevation Range: 2,000 - 6,500 ft.
