Natural Habitat: Grows on river/streambanks, lake shores, and in riparian forests, swamps, and wetlands throughout western and south-central MT.
Foliage/Flowers: Green leaves that turn brown and drop in the fall. Flowers are catkins and non-showy. Produces small cones.
Light Requirements: Full sun to part shade.
