Natural Habitat: Cool slopes in grasslands, riparian thickets, forests and plains throughout MT.
Foliage: Narrow green/ silvery leaves that turn brown and drop in the fall.
Flowers/ Fruit: Green non-showy flowers. Produces red berries.
Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade
Growth Rate: 2 ft. per year
20-year height: 12 ft.
Elevation Range: 2,000 ft. - 7,000 ft.
Cold Hardiness: Zone 3 - 9
